CAMS PM2.5 model via Open-Meteo
A global atmospheric model that estimates PM2.5 everywhere and forecasts it for the next days. It is a model estimate, not a measurement, and in this region it usually reads well below ground stations during heavy haze.
- Publisher
- Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (ECMWF); served by Open-Meteo
- What it measures
- Hourly PM2.5 (µg/m³) on a global grid, from the past days to about two days ahead.
- Update frequency
- Model runs update every few hours; we cache for 15 minutes.
- Coverage
- Global.
- How we use it
- Used only for the shape of the next-24-hours trend and for the colour field on the map, and for places with no open official feed. Where an official reading exists we scale the model to match it and say so on the page.
- Limitations
- Not official. During this event it has read roughly half of the NEA stations, so we never compare raw model values with official cut-offs.
